2018

Final concert of the masterclass conducting of the Berne University of Arts together with Baldur Brönnimann (conductor and teacher) and Thomas Rueedi (euphonium).

2017

Participation in the „18th World Music Contest“ in Kerkrade. The SIBO received an excellent final score of 90 points and thus the seventh rank.

Gala concert on the occasion of the festive inauguration of the new instruments of the Stadtmusik Langenthal.

 

2016

3rd place in the concert division „Höchstklasse“ at the Swiss Federal Music Festival in Montreux.

Autumn concert in Bern together with the soloist Daniel Schädeli (tuba) and a jazz ensemble of the Berne University of the Arts.

2015

Concert at the Bernese Music Festival 2015 in collaboration with the choirs Canto Classico and Canto Allegro and the Berne University of Arts HKB.

2014

Gala concert at the 1st East European Regional WASBE Conference in Debrecen, Hungary.

First rank in the concert division „Höchstklasse“ at the Bernese Cantonal Music Festival in Aarwangen.

Gala concert at the 11th Jungfrau Music Festival 2013 in Berne.

Swiss Federal Music Festival in St. Gallen. Fourth rank in the concert division „Höchstklasse“.

Community Concert with the Landesblasorchester Baden-Württemberg at the Stadthalle in Endingen (D).

Orchestra at the conductor workshop WASBE-Switzerland with Douglas Bostock in Lucerne.

2009

Jubilee concert „30 Years SIBO“ in the Culture Casino Bern together with the soloist Sergei Nakariakov (trumpet) and the Landesblasorchester Baden-Württemberg.

Participation in the „16th World Music Contest“ in Kerkrade. Eighth rank in the concert division „concert class“ and thus the best concert of the three participating bands from Switzerland.

First rank in the concert division „Höchstklasse“ at the Bernese Cantonal Music Festival in Büren a. Aare.

2008

Seminar with Philip Sparke during the study days Wind Orchestra Directorate in Berne.

Concert at church in Gossau hosted by the College of Music Zurich Oberland.

2007

Concert at the Swiss French Horn Days in Sarnen together with the soloists Radovan Vlatkovic, Georg Sonnleitner, Jeffrey Agrell and Lukas Christinat.

2006

The SIBO wins the Swiss Championship in the concert division „Höchstklasse“ at the Federal Swiss Music Contest in Lucerne.

2005

100th anniversary of the Bernese Cantonal Music Association: Performance of „Carmina Burana“ together with the „Berner Bach Chor“ in the Casino Bern.

Participation in the „15. World Music Contest“ in Kerkrade. Eighth rank in the concert division „concert class“.

2004

Jubilee concert in the concert hall of the Casino in Berne to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the SIBO.

Participation in the „Mid Europe 2004“ in Schladming, Austria.

2002

Guest orchestra of Harmony Gala at the „World Band Festival“ in the KKL Lucerne.

Participation in the „Alpine Music Festival“, Saas Fee.

Opening concert at the „Jungfrau Music Festival“ in the Casino Berne.

2001

Workshop and concert with Jan van der Roost in Volketswil.

Excellent 3rd rank in the highest category „Concert class“ at the 14th World Music Contest in Kerkrade.

2nd rank in the highest category „Höchstklasse Harmonie“ at the National Swiss Music Contest in Fribourg.

1999

Jubilee concert in the concert hall of the Casino in Berne to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the SIBO

Orchestra for the final and gala concert at the conductor competition in Baden.

Participation in the 9th WASBE Conference in San Luis Obispo (California, USA) with a premiere of a work by the Swiss composer Massimo Gaia at the request of Kulturstiftung Pro Helvetia. Following concert tour through California.

1997

Guest concert in Harelbeke (Belgium) and participation in the 13th World Music Contest in Kerkrade, this time officially called world championship.
SIBO achieves rank 10 and thus the best classification among the wind orchestras of German-speaking Europe.

1996

Charity concert for „Terre des Hommes“ at the cathedral in Zurich.

Winner in the highest category „Höchstklasse Harmonie“ at the Eidgenössisches Musikfest in Interlaken.

1995

Concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of Musikhaus Burri, together with Brass Band Berner Oberland, the composer and guest conductor Edward Gregson, as well as the two soloists James Gourlay and Steven Mead at the Casino in Berne.

Participation in the 7th WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensemble) Conference in Hamamatsu (Japan), as well as concerts in Tama City (Tokyo) and Nagoya.

1994

Upon invitation the SIBO took part in the „Festliche Musiktage Uster“. The programme consisted of first performances for wind orchestra, wind orchestra and choir as well as for a wind octet.

Jubilee concert in the concert hall of the Casino in Berne to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the SIBO, together with the Brass Band Berner Oberland, celebrating its 25th anniversary.

1993

The SIBO was invited by the WMC to participate in the 12th World Music Contest in Kerkrade/Netherlands in the category Concert Division (Section Harmony Orchestra). The orchestra won a day contest of all categories and a final 6th place in Concert Division.

1992

The CD „Spirit of Winds“ was recorded.
Together with these recordings it was possible to realize a premiere by Stefan Jaeggi.

1991

USA/Canada tour
Concerts were given in Marlborough (Massachusetts), Albany (New York), Toronto, Detroit, Travers City, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and St. Joseph (all Michigan).

1990

The orchestra continued to gain renown and was asked by SUISA to rehearse and perform the contemporary work „Threnos“ by Caspar Diethelm for the CD production „Concert Swiss Wind Music“.

At the same time the name of Adhoc Blasorchester Bern was changed to Sinfonisches Blasorchester Bern (SIBO).

1989

As a result of international contacts and perestroika, the orchestra was invited to Sofia (Bulgaria) to an International Music Festival.
